Early Gold Pear

Pyrus ussuriensis
'Early Gold'

A hardy pear tree with clouds of showy white flowers in spring, good fall color and consistent oval shape; small high-quality greenish fruit is good for fresh eating; fallen fruit can be messy, but self-pollinating and very resistant to fireblight. Early Gold Pear is a small tree that is typically grown for its edible qualities. It produces chartreuse oblong pears (which are botanically known as 'pomes') with hints of gold and white flesh which are usually ready for picking in early fall. The pears have a sweet taste and a crisp texture.
